History
The Rocklin Friends of the Library was established as a California 501c(3) non-profit corporation on November 8th, 1982 after several years of fundraising for a new library. After 42 years of service to the Rocklin community, the Friends expanded to become the Placer County Friends of the Library in 2025. While our mission remains the same, we are now the Friends group for the yet to be built West Placer library. The expanded group will support library services in Supervisorial Districts 1, 2, and 3 of Placer County. Since our inception, our fundraising and advocacy has helped to procure and renovate Rocklin’s library facilities, bolster the County library’s collection, support summer reading, and extend the library’s hours to seven days a week.
